Joan Malcheski
I bought my first computer back in 1993, and was immediately fascinated by all the different things a person could do if they only had the knowledge and skill. I've never studied art, but have always been fascinated by color and texture. I love to spend hours in front of my screen mixing and matching patterns and palettes. I don't have any ideas set in my head before I start working. Most of the time it is an exploratory adventure where I just create pictures that I enjoy.
Some of my friends consider me to be a 'professional' artist, since I've sold about 20 prints over the last 2 years at a small local art show, and 2 of my prints were recently displayed in the Lands' End corporate art gallery. I prefer being their artist friend, instead of their computer geek friend for sure!
